Sherrie E. Voyles has been exclusively representing Unions and employee benefits funds in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois since 1993. Ms. Voyles is a 1990 graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law, and spent the first three years of her career as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit.
Ms. Voyles is involved in all aspects of the firm’s practice, including being primarily responsible for a number of labor clients, including public transit unions in Illinois and Indiana. In addition, Ms. Voyles represents several private sector unions in the construction and entertainment industry. In that capacity, Ms. Voyles advises clients daily on matters relating to grievances, handles arbitrations, including interest arbitrations, contract negotiations and represents clients in various matters before the Illinois State Labor Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as in State and Federal courts.
Ms. Voyles has extensive experience in representing ERISA funds. In that capacity, she attends trustees' meetings and advises clients on issues related to the administration and implementation of their pension and health and welfare plans, including the ACA, COBRA, coordination of benefits, HIPAA, and appeals issues. She is also one of the Firm’s most experienced trial attorneys having conducted numerous trials in federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies, including on behalf of employee benefit funds in ERISA litigation, on behalf of unions in various matters, and on behalf of individuals in Fair Labor Standards Act and Family and Medical Leave Act litigation, and other statutory rights cases. In 2017, she was inducted as a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, which is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, deduction and excellence.
