Labor and employment attorney Shannon D. Farmer handles traditional labor matters, including labor arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, interest arbitrations, administration of labor contracts, and federal, state, and local labor relations proceedings. She also defends employers at the federal, state, local, and administrative level in all aspects of employment law, including race, sex, age, religion, disability, and reverse discrimination claims, as well as wage and hour, civil rights, contract, and tort claims.
Ms. Farmer counsels and conducts training for clients regarding drafting and administering employment policies, harassment investigations, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and a wide range of other human resources issues.
Ms. Farmer is Immediate Past President of, and a current member of the Personnel Committee for, the Board of Directors of The Birth Center. She previously served as law clerk to the Honorable Raymond J. Broderick, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Farmer is recognized in the 2009-2012 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, a directory built primarily on client interviews, as a leader in the field of labor and employment law. She is also listed in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for employment law.
