Rosemary Townley

Since 1986, Ms. Townley has been a practicing independent arbitrator and mediator. The scope of her practice covers a range of fields from professional sports to international finance and a broad spectrum of issues from discrimination to determination of governing law.
She is a member of several of the American Arbitration Association's arbitral panels, including: Commercial, International, Employment, Executive Contracts, Complex Case and Labor.
She is a past Chair of the New York State Bar Association Section on Labor and Employment Law, and an Inaugural Member of the New York International Arbitration Center. She is also a former member of the Board Governors of the National Academy of Arbitrators as well as a continuing member.
She is a frequent speaker on topics such as labor and employment law, best practices in arbitration, discovery, social media, and sports arbitration. She has authored numerous articles and co-edited a major treatise on public sector labor and employment law.
She holds a Ph.D. from Syracuse University and J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
