Michael McAuliffe Miller
Michael McAuliffe Miller is member of Eckert Seamans, LLC, resident in its Harrisburg office. Mr. Miller concentrates his practice exclusively on management-side employment and labor law. In the private sector, he represents clients in the health care, higher education and utility industries. In the public sector, he has been engaged as Special Counsel to the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus, the Public Utility Commission and other political subdivisions at the county, school district, borough and township level.
As an adjunct to those representations, Mr. Miller maintains an active litigation practice before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and in the arbitration sphere. He has successfully litigated against the National Labor Relations Board in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit as well as secured appellate victories in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as well as Pennsylvania’s intermediate appellate courts as Special Counsel for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs, the County Commissioners’ Association and the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.
Mr. Miller received his Bachelors and Masters’ degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. from Duquesne University. He has been recognized as a Rising Star SuperLawyer and served as delegate to the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Miller frequently lectures for various interests groups, has authored studies of municipal employers for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Early Intervention Program and been a commentator for local and national publications on labor and employment issues.
