Charles R. Ragan
Chuck Ragan currently serves as Special Counsel to Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason LLP and its eDiscovery and Information Governance practice, and maintains his own law firm in San Francisco for ADR and arbitration matters. He also is an adjunct professor at UC Hastings, teaching Electronic Discovery, and at the University of Minnesota, teaching Information Governance.
He began practice at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, where he enjoyed a varied practice of complex commercial litigation, international arbitration, and ADR. Since 2002 he has been heavily involved in the development of the law and best practices for the evolving area of electronic discovery -- both at Pillsbury and through Working Group 1 of The Sedona Conference, a 501(c)(3) organization. He has testified before and provided comments to the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules responsible for proposals to amend the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and has led training sessions on electronic discovery at a national AAA neutrals’ conference, and as part of The Sedona Conference’s special e-discovery session for Special Masters.
Chuck is a certified mediator, arbitrator and early neutral advisor, has been listed among the top lawyers in San Francisco for ADR and Arbitration, as well as in the Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitrators (Law Business Research) and an Expert in Commercial Arbitration (Euromoney).
